Continue working on your January RQ. This is the last week to receive credit.

Work on XTRA Math daily.

If you would like to participate in the Catholic Schools Week goodie bags for the BPD and BFD, please bring your donation to school by Friday, January 29th. The items needed are as follows: Individually wrapped or bagged beef jerky, mints and/or gum, snack sized bags of chips and/or cookies, small bottles of water, and large brown lunch bags. Any and all donations made will be given to Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Metaxas for your home room. Thank you in advance for your participation and generosity. :0)


4th Grade:

IXL Skills for the week (due TODAY): Math D.34, D.41, E.1, E.2, E.5 and ELA N.2, T.1, U.5, KK.12, and KK.13.

Daily Language Review (DLR): Week 17, Monday (correcting sentences, contractions, possessive nouns).

Handwriting: Lesson 18, Day 1 (Tt)

Vocabulary (Sadlier): Begin Unit 7. Read the accompanying story, and read through the words and definitions. We will go over this in our morning Meet. 

Reading: Lesson 15 - Introduction to vocabulary (pages 436-437). Anchor Text “Ecology for Kids” (pages 440-451). Read the story silently to yourself or follow along with the video @ https://youtu.be/YCw8pGbx2dg, BEFORE our morning Meet. We will read it together and discuss. 


Spelling: Changing final y to i, Reader’s Notebook page 184.

Grammar: Irregular verbs (past tense), Reader’s Notebook page 187.

Math: Lesson 7-1, Division Rules. Find whole number quotients using strategies and properties of operations, Pages 128-129. (We Do ODD, You Do EVEN).

Religion: How do bishops continue the work of the Apostles today? Pages 106-107.

Science: Chapter 6 Review, Pages 204-205 (1-20).


5th Grade: 

Math: Fibonacci, page 97. Find prime factorization of a number. (We Do page 98, You Do page 99).

Science: Know what is in an ecosystem. Pages 121-125. Complete Activity on page 124.

Social Studies: Black History Month Assignments.

Religion: Discover qualities that help us live a holy life, pages 230-231.

Vocabulary: Identify synonyms and antonyms, also use words in sentences, pages 122-123.

Reading: Lesson 11 - Introduction to vocabulary (pages 322-323). Anchor Text “Dangerous Crossing” (pages 326-339). Read the story silently to yourself or follow along with the video @ https://youtu.be/QwPldj0dirYBEFORE our morning Meet. We will read it together and discuss. 


Spelling: VCCV Pattern, Reader’s Notebook Page 160.

Grammar: Subject Pronouns, Reader’s Notebook Page 163.

IXL for the week: Due Tuesday, January 26th. Skill Plan (ELA): Lesson 10, 1 (Read Poetry) 2 (Main Idea), and 5 (Punctuating Dialogue).  Skill Plan (Math): Lesson 4-10, 1 (Order of Operations) and Lesson 4-11, 1, 2, and 3 (Expressions).
