4th Grade:

Daily Language Review (DLR): Week 8, Wednesday

Handwriting: Lesson 9, Day 3

ELA (Journeys): Log on to ThinkCentral  https://www-k6.thinkcentral.com/ePC/start.do. Read Leveled Reader “The Magic of Movies”, before our morning Hangout. We will complete Reader’s Notebook pages 73-74 together (Reader’s Guide). Apply Vocabulary Knowledge, Quick Write, review consistent use of tenses, plan an informational paragraph.

Math: Minute 36. Use place value models, Lesson 4-2, Pages 70-71. We will complete 1-13 ODD together, you will complete 2-14 EVEN independently. https://youtu.be/sZ4fWym7kYw 

Religion: Discover God’s plan of Salvation, pages 50-51.

Social Studies: Lessons 1-3 QUIZ (I will email this to you.) You may use your book to complete.

IXL Skills for the week: ELA U.1, OO.3, OO.5, OO.11, and V.2. Math D.24, D.12, and D.22. Social Studies B.1 and B.2.

Readworks: “History of Halloween”, due Friday. “What is a Galaxy?”, due November 4th.

This is the last week to earn RQ points for October.

**You can wear your Halloween costume to “class” on Friday afternoon. Remember, your costume is a secret.


5th Grade:

Math: Multiply multi digit numbers by 1-digit factors. Pages 50-51. IXL C.1, C.2

Social Studies: Create a totem pole with a cardboard tube. We will discuss this during our Hangout, and I will give more information then. :0) 

Religion: Discover the events and meaning of Jesus’ Passion and Death. Pages 82-83. Mass parts.

Vocabulary: associate unit words with other known words, use root pro- and voc- and recognize context of word used. Pages 62-63, word cards for words 9-12.

Reading: Leveled Reader, Independent Reading (More information will be provided during our morning Hangout.)

English: Compound Sentences. IXL JJ.8. Reader’s Notebook pages 25-26, 33.
