Continue working on your January RQ. This is the last week to receive credit.

Work on XTRA Math daily. 

 If you would like to participate in the Catholic Schools Week goodie bags for the BPD and BFD, please bring your donation to school by Friday, January 29th. The items needed are as follows: Individually wrapped or bagged beef jerky, mints and/or gum, snack sized bags of chips and/or cookies, small bottles of water, and large brown lunch bags. Any and all donations made will be given to Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Metaxas for your home room. Thank you in advance for your participation and generosity. :0)


4th Grade: 

IXL Skills for the week (due Monday, February 1st): SKILL PLAN - ELA Lesson 15 1 (Main Idea), 3 (Poetry), 4 (Guide Words), 5 (Dictionary Definitions), 6 (Context Clues), 7 and 8 (Irregular Past Tense Verbs). MATH Lesson 7-2:1 (Properties of Division) and 7-3:1 and 2 (Estimating Quotients). 


Daily Language Review (DLR): Week 17, Wednesday (correcting sentences, similes, ABC order) 

Handwriting: Lesson 18, Day 3 (Hh)

Reading: Leveled Reader - “Dad’s Garden”.


We are going to read and discuss this together during our morning Meet. Reader’s Notebook pages 181-182 (Independent Reading). Follow the directions on the page to answer the questions.

Grammar: Reader’s Notebook page 189 (helping verbs with irregular verbs). 

Math: Lesson 7-3. Use estimation strategies to find and assess the solutions for division problems. Pages 132-133, workbook page 95 (We Do) and 96 (You Do). 

Religion: Review Chapter 8, pages 110-112.

Science: We will go over your study guide before completing Chapter 6 TEST. Please be prepared.

Readworks: Weather - The Water Cycle. We will read this together and review how to answer text dependent questions and how to cite text evidence when answering questions.


5th Grade:

IXL Skills: Skill Plan ELA: 11:1. (similes/metaphors), 5 (personal pronouns), 6 (subject/object pronouns), 7 (replacing nouns with pronouns). Skill Plan MATH 5-1: 1 (prime/composite numbers), 2 (prime factorization), 3 (prime factorization with exponents), 5-2: 1 (greatest common factor) and 2 (greatest common factor of 3 numbers). Due Monday, February 1st. 

Math: List common factors and find the Greatest Common Factor of two or more numbers. Pages 100-101. (We Do EVEN, You Do ODD). https://youtu.be/crWLFqOQtBA  


Science: Read pages 126-129 to identify parts of an ecosystem.

Social Studies: Compare line graphs and circle graphs. Page 77 and IXL V.2

Religion: Decide on a response to the lesson on living as children of the light. Moral dilemmas, pages 234-235.

Vocabulary: Use words association, Latin roots, words in context and discuss prepositional phrases, pages 124-125. 

Reading: Leveled Reader - “A Night to Remember”..
